From Sales to Spiritual Recovery
Roger McDiarmid graduated from the University of Southern California wth a BA in Telecommunications. My professional career has been in the Bio-Medical field as a diagnostic sales consultant since 1974. I am currently employed with HORIBA Medical since August 1999 as a Sr. Area Sales Manager. I have been actively involved with Alcoholics Anonymous since 1996. In 2005 Bob Noonan (Licensed Family, Drug and Alcohol practioner for over 40 years) and was the Director of the Chemical Dependency program at Chapman Hospital, asked me to cohost and teach Steppin Out Recovery with him. Steppin Out Recovery is a Biblically based program utilizing the steps and principles of AA. We now cohost a Pod Cast called Steppin Out Recovery. In 2008 I discovered HIS Place Church in Huntington Beach and now serve on the board as an Elder with oversight on recovery along with other church ministries. 2008 also introduced me to Take 12 Recovery Radio, which is the first and longest running Christian recovery talk internet program in the world. I serve as the Network Coordinator with Monty Meyer founder and President. I cohost every week the Take 12 Recovery Radio Podcast. Salvation Army and Teen Challenge in southern California are a passion of mine. I have the privilege to carry the message of Faith, Hope, and Love of Jesus Christ to members of those organizations. Starting in 2024 I am part of the teaching team for “Came To Believe”. Came To Believe is an organization that started in the 60’s by Clarence Sneider a member and sponsee of Dr. Bob Smith the Co-Founder of Alcoholics Anonymous in Akron, Ohio in 1935. Came To Believe is now the mandatory program for 12 Step Recovery at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program. Salvation Army is the largest adult rehabilitation program in the world. I am now a proud member of the Board of Directors for the outreach ministry – “A Hill To Die On”. My goal is to make a difference in this generation in a powerful and positive way through the power, truth and love of Jesus Christ.
